Job description

Role overview

This position focuses on building high-quality, standards-aligned career and technical education (CTE) curriculum for high school learners. The curriculum developer will design engaging instructional resources, verify educational accuracy, and ensure content stays relevant and aligned with both national and state requirements. The role also includes maintaining standards crosswalks, working closely with educators and CTE partners, supporting CTSO-related materials, and representing the organization at conferences and events. It is well suited to a current or former educator or CTE specialist who enjoys collaboration, innovation, and shaping meaningful learning experiences.

Location

The role is based on-site in Lexington, Kentucky, or available remotely for candidates living within a reasonable driving distance of Lexington. Preference will be given to applicants located in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, or Tennessee.

Curriculum development duties

  • Investigate, write, and align lessons to national and state-specific standards.
  • Create lesson resources such as lesson text, discussion guides, slide decks, glossaries, interactive activities, assessments, and supporting materials for multimedia content, including lesson video scripts and At the Bells content.
  • Maintain educational quality and ensure every resource is practical for classroom use.

Collaboration and quality control

  • Work with subject matter experts and contractors to keep curriculum consistent, accurate, and academically rigorous.
  • Partner with teachers and the Ambassador teacher group to collect feedback and drive ongoing improvements.
  • Coordinate with CTSO organizations to align materials with current competition and leadership opportunities.

Crosswalk development and management

  • Research state education pathways and develop state-to-national standards crosswalks for Crosswalk 1.0.
  • Help integrate standards crosswalks into the learning management system for Crosswalk 2.0.
  • Create customized state-specific course versions from the core curriculum for Crosswalk 3.0.
  • Regularly review, refresh, and maintain existing crosswalks and curriculum assets.

Outreach and representation

  • Represent the company at selected CTE and CTSO conferences as both a practitioner and a thought leader.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop SME-led materials for brochures, social media, conference displays, and similar assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Agriculture, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and/or instructional design.
  • Strong knowledge of state and national education standards, especially in agriculture pathways.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and file management.
  • Solid time-management skills with the ability to handle several projects at once.
  • Comfort with content management systems and learning management systems, or the ability to learn them quickly.
  • Strong collaboration skills along with polished written communication and editing ability.
  • Demonstrated listening skills and the ability to communicate clearly.
  • A consistent record of producing accurate, high-quality work through careful review and thorough follow-through.
  • Ability to take feedback constructively and stay effective in demanding situations, including tight deadlines.

Preferred background

  • Experience working with career-technical student organizations.
  • Experience creating or reviewing instructional content for digital learning platforms.
