Role overview

YWCA NWT is looking for casual Crisis Support Workers for Alison McAteer House shelter in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. In this role, you will assist shelter residents and women reaching out through the crisis line by providing crisis intervention support, case management assistance, advocacy, and referrals to community services.

Key duties

  • Offer immediate, supportive crisis intervention to residents and callers.
  • Assist with case management and coordinate follow-up support.
  • Advocate for clients and help connect them with appropriate community resources.
  • Provide life-skills guidance to shelter residents.
  • Support the shelter’s routine day-to-day operations.
