Role Overview
The Criminology Data Analyst is part of the Specialized Caseload Unit (SCU) and reports to the Director of the Specialized Caseload Unit. This position works with investigative electronic monitoring data, turning system outputs into clear reports, diagnostic findings, and practical recommendations. The role is centered on accuracy, clarity, and customer-focused analytical support for SCU agencies.
What You Will Do
- Build strong working relationships with customers by showing empathy and delivering tailored analytical and reporting support.
- Understand how multiple systems used by SCU agencies connect and follow customer-specific analytical workflows on daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Conduct proactive diagnostic reviews of electronic monitoring events and prepare clear recommendations based on agency protocols.
- Keep follow-ups on track so reporting commitments are completed on time or ahead of schedule.
- Work closely with other Track Group team members to maintain accurate records of customer requests, recommendations, and investigative reports.
Reporting Structure
There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, analytics, and/or business intelligence tools.
- Background in the electronic monitoring industry is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good organizational ability.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe PDF, and similar software.
- Ability to manage several projects at once while keeping deadlines in view.
- Hands-on Python experience for scripting, data processing, and automation.
- Experience creating and refining SQL queries in Microsoft Fabric environments such as Synapse Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, or Data Engineering.
- Strong report-writing ability with the skill to translate technical findings into actionable insights.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and able to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Good time management skills and the ability to work independently as well as with others.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in data analysis, computer science, criminal justice, or business intelligence.
- Some travel may be required.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $60,000 per year.
Work Location and Schedule
This is a hybrid/remote role, but the employee is expected to report to the Naperville, Illinois office three days per week.
Physical Demands
- Occasional lifting or moving of objects up to 20 pounds.
- Constant communication with others to exchange information.
- Frequent repetitive hand, wrist, or finger movements.
- No requirement to operate machinery or power tools.
- Primarily sedentary work involving sitting.
