Job description
Role overview
The Criminal Justice Planner supports the Delaware Criminal Justice Council by reviewing subgrant activity for adherence to state and federal rules and by providing administrative and technical assistance to council subcommittees.
Key duties
- Help the Council identify issues affecting criminal justice agencies and assist in shaping practical ways to address them.
- Track subgrant programs to ensure they comply with applicable state and federal requirements.
- Create and write operating policies and procedures for new or proposed programs.
- Train and orient agency users on program policies, procedures, and how to use the program effectively.
- Support committees and task forces that research or investigate matters related to criminal justice agencies.
Job requirements
- Background in criminal justice research, including systematic investigation used to uncover and verify facts.
- Experience working with criminal justice-related organizations such as police, courts, corrections, parole boards, community groups, or local government bodies.
- Understanding of program evaluation methods used to identify issues, assess compliance, and measure effectiveness and efficiency against program goals.
- Ability to recommend alternatives, improvements, courses of action, and other changes based on findings.
- Experience developing policies and procedures.
Conditions of hire
