Role overview
This part-time onsite role in Australia is for a Credit Analyst / Risk Analyst who can assess financial health, evaluate borrowing capacity, and spot exposure that could affect business performance or stability. The position centers on careful financial review, risk measurement, and practical recommendations that help guide credit and risk decisions.
What you will do
- Review financial statements, credit histories, and supporting records to judge creditworthiness.
- Assess revenue, cash flow, profit levels, liquidity, and the ability to repay obligations.
- Carry out credit risk evaluations and turn findings into decision-ready recommendations.
- Track portfolios for emerging risks, patterns, and early warning signs.
- Research industries, markets, and economic conditions to strengthen risk assessments.
- Prepare credit reports, risk analysis summaries, and presentation materials.
- Assist with portfolio reviews, exposure analysis, and risk rating work.
- Where needed, build financial models and run stress tests and scenario analyses.
- Help shape and maintain risk policies, frameworks, and operating procedures.
- Work with internal teams to identify and reduce financial and operational exposure.
- Follow internal controls, regulatory rules, and wider risk management standards.
- Keep documentation accurate for analyses, approvals, and recommendations.
- Support audit, compliance, and governance activities linked to risk oversight.
- Suggest improvements that make risk monitoring and reporting more effective.
What we are looking for
- A bachelor’s qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related subject.
- Solid understanding of financial statements, credit evaluation, and risk management fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of corporate finance, lending practices, and financial markets.
- Confidence using Microsoft Excel and financial analysis software or tools.
- Exposure to credit scoring models, risk rating systems, or financial databases will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving ability.
- Capability to read complex financial information and identify meaningful risk drivers.
- High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to create clear, concise, and well-organized reports.
- Strong planning and time-management skills.
- Comfort managing several priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work alone as well as within a collaborative team setting.
