About the Role

This is a remote freelance, project-based position for a Creative Strategist supporting a fast-scaling e-commerce group. The role is focused on strategy, concept development, and ad scripting for a German skincare brand built through high-performing campaigns on Meta and TikTok. The team operates fully distributed across multiple countries and places a strong emphasis on creative quality and measurable results.

You will work closely with two Creative Directors who currently own the creative strategy function. The position is designed for someone who can learn quickly from experienced operators, take ownership of the creative process, and contribute ideas that improve performance at scale.

Role Focus

This is strictly a strategy and concepting position. The production work is handled by an in-house team of 11 video editors, so there is no editing responsibility. Your core contribution will be turning insights into strong concepts, writing scripts and briefs, and reviewing final assets before launch.

Responsibilities

  • Create performance-driven ad concepts and creative angles for a German skincare brand.
  • Develop detailed scripts and creative briefs across multiple formats, including UGC, mashups, storytelling mashups, and related ad styles.
  • Review completed edits and provide clear revision notes and feedback to the production team.
  • Study performance data to identify what is working and use those learnings to improve and scale winning concepts.
  • Work closely with the Creative Directors to continuously raise the creative standard.

Requirements

  • Fluent German is required, as all concepts and scripts are written in German.
  • Good English skills are needed for internal communication, since English is the team language.
  • Proven background in performance advertising, ideally with DTC e-commerce brands or a performance marketing agency.
  • Strong understanding of paid social ad structure, including hooks, storytelling, and calls to action.
  • Good instinct for what resonates with consumer audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, manage your own workflow, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to stay responsive.
  • Prior experience in skincare or beauty is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Facebook and TikTok ad metrics and how creative choices affect performance is beneficial.
  • Experience creating UGC-style or influencer-style content concepts is a plus.

Working Conditions

The position is freelance / independent contractor based on a 40-hour work week. Work is fully remote, so you can operate from anywhere. The role is offered on a long-term basis, with the possibility of a full-time employment offer for the right person. Taxes and social contributions must be handled by the contractor in their country of residence.

Compensation

The monthly compensation ranges from USD 3,500 to USD 5,500, depending on experience and quality of work. A performance bonus is also offered, tied to a percentage share of the ad spend generated by your winning concepts.
