Role overview
The Creative Director is responsible for shaping and delivering the creative vision across the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Open, the F1 Miami Grand Prix, and co-branded work for official partners. This role combines strong design leadership with brand storytelling, social-first thinking, advertising, merchandising, event activations, artist curation, and an interest in how new technology, including AI, can improve scale and creative quality.
The right person will bring both creative taste and business thinking, helping strengthen fan engagement, support company growth, and deepen relationships with sponsors and partners. The position calls for someone who can protect established legacy brands while also bringing fresh ideas to newer, fast-growing global properties.
Location
This is an onsite, full-time role based at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and motivate a design team with a positive, hands-on management style.
- Raise the standard of creative work across all brands so the output becomes widely recognized and respected in the industry.
- Partner with marketing leaders and stakeholders to guide campaign direction and keep the creative consistent across every channel.
- Use storytelling and creative strategy to build alignment, earn stakeholder trust, and create work that surprises and engages fans.
- Review creative feedback thoughtfully, give clear direction, and refine work until it meets the goals of briefs, internal teams, and partners.
- Contribute actively to marketing leadership discussions and decisions.
- Stay current with industry shifts, technology changes, and cultural trends, and apply those insights to the team’s output.
- Oversee digital design work for websites and mobile apps, with strong attention to modern UX and UI standards.
- Support the creation of effective advertising across digital media, email, and social platforms.
Candidate profile
They are looking for someone with a strong design foundation, a fresh and innovative mindset, and the ability to establish and uphold creative standards. This person should be a confident people manager who can mentor talent, collaborate across teams, and work closely with both internal and external partners. The ideal candidate can move comfortably in a fast-paced environment where priorities change often and rapid experimentation is part of the job.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Design, Graphic Communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
- Eight to ten years of experience in brand creative direction is preferred, ideally with a combination of sports brand, agency, and in-house work.
- At least three years of experience in a creative leadership position.
- Background in sports, entertainment, or lifestyle branding is strongly preferred.
- Experience developing and delivering brand identity systems, brand campaigns, and product campaigns.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a polished executive presence.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift frequently and innovation matters.
- Ability to make strategic decisions using creative briefs, marketing data, and business priorities.
- Proven ability to identify, support, and grow talent.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
