Job description

Role overview

This position focuses on managing government and public-sector relationships in the host country, with an emphasis on navigating political and administrative channels, supporting government-related business development, and helping strengthen the company’s public affairs presence in Algeria.

Key responsibilities

  • Map and manage the country’s government and political decision-making structure, and carry out public relations efforts that can open doors at ministerial level and above.
  • Track and interpret local policy developments, while identifying government business opportunities and useful resources.
  • Support the AR Project Director in designing ToG initiatives and helping move them through execution and delivery.
  • Contribute to shaping a supportive business and investment environment that helps build a healthier government-business ecosystem for ToG growth.

Qualifications and experience

A bachelor’s degree or higher is required. Applicants with academic backgrounds in Public Administration, Political Science, Agricultural Economics, Engineering Management, or similar fields are preferred. Candidates should bring solid hands-on experience in government affairs and public relations within the host country; experience in government sales is an added advantage. Strong candidates are expected to have access to resources at ministerial level and above, and experience in organizations with broad government-project involvement will be considered beneficial.

Skills and competencies

The role calls for strong business communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to work effectively with government stakeholders. A practical understanding of how public authorities operate locally is also important, along with the ability to identify and leverage regional networks and resources.

Additional requirements

Applicants are expected to have substantial local connections and a clear understanding of how government bodies function in the host country.
