Role overview
This position focuses on managing government and public-sector relationships in the host country, with an emphasis on navigating political and administrative channels, supporting government-related business development, and helping strengthen the company’s public affairs presence in Algeria.
Key responsibilities
- Map and manage the country’s government and political decision-making structure, and carry out public relations efforts that can open doors at ministerial level and above.
- Track and interpret local policy developments, while identifying government business opportunities and useful resources.
- Support the AR Project Director in designing ToG initiatives and helping move them through execution and delivery.
- Contribute to shaping a supportive business and investment environment that helps build a healthier government-business ecosystem for ToG growth.
Qualifications and experience
A bachelor’s degree or higher is required. Applicants with academic backgrounds in Public Administration, Political Science, Agricultural Economics, Engineering Management, or similar fields are preferred. Candidates should bring solid hands-on experience in government affairs and public relations within the host country; experience in government sales is an added advantage. Strong candidates are expected to have access to resources at ministerial level and above, and experience in organizations with broad government-project involvement will be considered beneficial.
Skills and competencies
The role calls for strong business communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to work effectively with government stakeholders. A practical understanding of how public authorities operate locally is also important, along with the ability to identify and leverage regional networks and resources.
