Role overview

The City of Winnipeg is seeking a Corporate Training Administrator to support corporate learning operations within HR Services. Working under the HR Development Coordinator, this role combines administration, customer service, and coordination work to help training programs run smoothly across the organization.

Work location and schedule

The designated work site is the 5th floor, 180 King St in Winnipeg. The position is hybrid and may include flexible work arrangements, subject to approval. Regular hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Position details

This is a temporary, full-time role lasting until November 27, 2027. The job is in the C.U.P.E. employee group and classified as Clerk B under the C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement. Posting number: 127070. Closing date: July 6, 2026.

Compensation and benefits

Pay is $1,798.29 to $2,105.55 bi-weekly, according to the Clerk B classification. What the role does

The Corporate Training Administrator handles day-to-day support for training programs, including course and session administration in the learning management system, enrollment and attendance tracking, and responding to training-related questions. The role also helps facilitators with logistics for both online and in-person sessions, offers basic LMS support to departments, and carries out general administrative and operational tasks as needed.

Education and experience

Applicants should have completed high school and have relevant training in administrative support, office technology, or a related area. Experience should include administrative or operational support in a training, learning, or office setting, along with work using an LMS, HR system, or another data management platform to record and track training information.

Technical and professional expectations

The successful candidate should have experience supporting virtual and in-person training sessions, including arranging logistics and providing technical help. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications, Zoom, and e-learning tools such as Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise is expected. The role also requires the ability to quickly learn the Learn Winnipeg LMS within the first three months and to update online learning content in Storyline and Rise to a working level within three months.

Other requirements and conditions

Applicants must be able to handle confidential information appropriately, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in person, by phone, and in writing, and organize work to meet deadlines. Sound judgment, the ability to work independently with limited supervision, and working knowledge of training-related equipment are also required.

Candidates educated outside Canada must provide an official academic assessment from a recognized Canadian assessment service to confirm that their education is comparable to the minimum Canadian requirement. The successful applicant must remain legally eligible to work in Canada. If they hold a work permit, it must stay valid for the duration of employment.

A satisfactory Police Information Check will be required at the candidate’s expense. The employee must also be available to attend in-person meetings or training at various City facilities and be able to use computer systems and standard office equipment for extended periods.
