Job description

About the team

Netflix Animation Studios is focused on creating ambitious animated films that resonate globally and leave a lasting impact. The studio is also building a strong, connected community of artists and creative talent across three locations worldwide.

The Talent Development and Training team is responsible for bringing training into one place and making it more efficient so that every production department has access to a fair and consistent learning experience. The goal is to build a culture where people continually develop, gain practical tools, collaborate better, lead teams, innovate, and maintain high creative standards.

Role overview

The studio is looking for an organized and enthusiastic Training Coordinator to support a growing feature animation organization. Reporting to the Director of Production Training and Talent Development, this role handles day-to-day administrative coordination, supports training programs, encourages learning across the studio, promotes available learning opportunities, and helps evaluate sessions through participant feedback.

The position also supports early-career outreach and broader community engagement by arranging and scheduling events such as studio visits, portfolio reviews, conferences, and academic events, along with the related administrative work. The ideal candidate is highly structured, proactive, and comfortable working closely with a global training team.

Key responsibilities

Training coordination

  • Provide daily administrative support in partnership with the training team.
  • Maintain the training schedule so that events fit smoothly alongside studio operations.
  • Coordinate a variety of learning activities, including onboarding, studio-wide sessions, and department-specific training.
  • Serve as the main contact point for internal and external communication related to training.
  • Prepare and arrange orientation materials for new hires.
  • Develop promotional content such as newsletters and flyers to showcase learning resources and upcoming sessions.
  • Use a ticketing platform to track and respond to incoming training requests.
  • Work with artist managers and their coordinators to support training needs tied to production teams.

Learning resources and systems

  • Help maintain and refresh workshop content, instructional materials, and other learning resources.
  • Organize recorded training sessions inside the Learning Management System.
  • Partner with technical trainers to manage training spaces, including room setup and the upkeep of hardware, software, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Keep internal training pages and documentation updated on tools such as Google Workspace and Confluence.
  • Find and coordinate external vendors for enrichment activities like life drawing, sculpting, and painting.
  • Oversee purchasing of specialized materials for enrichment programs and the training library.
  • Support the rollout and day-to-day use of digital learning tools and online learning resources.

Tracking and reporting

  • Collect and monitor participant feedback to measure how effective workshops and classes are.
  • Track spending related to enrichment sessions and other training resources.
  • Support the Director and technical trainers with reporting and operational tasks.

Outreach and engagement

  • Assist with early-career outreach through event coordination for internal and external visits, portfolio critiques, conferences, festivals, studio events, academic events, workshops, and similar initiatives.
  • Handle planning, scheduling, travel, and accommodation arrangements for outreach activities.
  • Work with media coordinators to support requests for promotional materials and branding-related events.
  • Manage post-event follow-up actions and ensure all required wrap-up tasks are completed.

Experience and skills required

The role calls for at least 3 years of experience in training administration, training coordination, scheduling, early-career program coordination, or a related area.

Useful background includes working in an animation studio or production environment. Strong capability with Google Workspace, calendaring systems, and Airtable is important. Experience planning events and managing logistics is also expected. Familiarity with design tools such as Canva or Photoshop is considered an advantage, along with basic design knowledge. Understanding learning frameworks, training tools, and new technologies will be helpful.

Successful candidates should bring a proactive, ownership-driven mindset and a genuine interest in helping people grow. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to solve problems well, balance fast turnaround times with quality, and collaborate effectively with different managers, supervisors, and teams. The role may involve travel and occasional non-standard working hours.

Location and working model

This role is based in Sydney, Australia, and follows a hybrid setup with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

Benefits

Benefits may include medical, dental, and vision coverage; mental health support; retirement programs; a stock option program; family-forming benefits; paid leave programs; and paid time off for vacation and sick leave.

Equal opportunity and accommodations

The company is committed to an inclusive hiring experience. Candidates who need a disability accommodation or any other adjustment during the hiring process can contact their recruiting partner. The employer is an equal-opportunity organization and does not discriminate based on race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
