Role overview
Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is looking for a Cook to help prepare wholesome, nutritious food for residents in a long-term care setting. This role supports the day-to-day dining experience by making sure meals are prepared with care, quality, and consistency. HCSG emphasizes service to the communities it works with and values team members who are committed to high standards and a positive resident experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals in line with planned menus and written recipes.
- Maintain HCSG expectations for food quality, flavor, and presentation.
- Follow food safety and sanitation practices and keep the kitchen neat and organized.
- Help manage inventory and support ordering of kitchen supplies.
- Work respectfully and helpfully with residents, coworkers, and visitors while delivering strong customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential.
- Prior experience in cooking or food preparation is preferred.
- Ability to work from recipes and accommodate dietary restrictions.
- A positive attitude and the ability to communicate well with facility occupants, administrators, and HCSG leadership.
- Must comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, sit, bend, and walk for long periods.
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks on an ongoing basis.
- Must be able to work around food items and cleaning chemicals.
- May need to complete an approved sanitation and safety course.
- A current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required where mandated by state or county law.
- Must live within the service area.
