MachinePulse’s Karpo is an AI assistant built into iMessage that helps people explore their city, uncover lesser-known places, book trips, and take care of everyday tasks. The product is designed to be a local discovery guide with strong taste and a lifestyle focus.

Role Overview

This position reports to the Content Creative and Strategy Lead and is responsible for supporting Karpo’s content strategy from concept to distribution. The intern will create and publish content, collaborate with leadership, and help turn the brand into a more visible and trusted presence across social platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Create engaging short-form videos that clearly show Karpo’s capabilities.
• Handle the full video workflow, including brainstorming, shooting, editing, and posting, with field shoots at restaurants, vintage stores, and local events.
• Publish and manage content across Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant channels while keeping the brand voice consistent and focused on reach and engagement.
• Review performance data and improve content based on audience reaction and platform insights.
• Keep the content calendar updated, manage digital files, and make sure campaigns stay on track.
• Help refine the overall content approach and spot opportunities to drive growth, brand awareness, and community engagement in New York City.

Requirements

• Proven ability to create short-form video content from concept through distribution.
• Strong familiarity with social media platforms and the trends that influence performance.
• Confidence appearing on camera and speaking with users, business owners, and partners.
• Strong organization, self-direction, and attention to detail.
• Must be currently located in New York City.
• Preferred: strong sense of visual style and aesthetics.
• Preferred: an established audience or evidence of traction on social media.
• Preferred: deep familiarity with New York City’s food, nightlife, and culture scenes.

Compensation

The estimated pay for this role is $17 per hour.
