Role overview

The business is looking to appoint a Construction Site Foreman to support the delivery of commercial construction projects. This role suits an experienced foreman or senior tradesperson who is ready to take charge of day-to-day site activities within a respected contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the daily work of tradespeople, labourers, and subcontractors on site.
• Plan day-to-day tasks based on priorities and project schedules, making adjustments where required.
• Read and apply drawings, plans, and specifications to support site execution.
• Track work progress and escalate any issues that could affect programme timelines.
• Support site logistics, including deliveries and materials handling.
• Run daily briefings, inductions, and toolbox talks for site teams.
• Help maintain strong health and safety compliance across the site.
• Keep site records and daily logs up to date.

• Promote tidy, organised, and efficient site housekeeping.

Requirements

• A trade background such as carpentry, or a similar discipline, is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in a foreman or other supervisory construction role is required.
• Previous work on healthcare, commercial, or general construction projects would be an advantage.
• Solid understanding of construction methods and site operations is essential.
• Ability to manage several trades at once while keeping productivity on track.
• Comfortable working under pressure and to deadlines.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Must ensure workers follow safety procedures and use the correct protective equipment.
• Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification are required.
