Role Overview
The Community Engagement Specialist will take ownership of building, managing, and expanding communities across several channels. This person will lead engagement efforts, develop durable connections with members and partners, collect community feedback, and work closely with internal teams to improve the overall experience for customers and community members.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement community engagement plans that support brand and business goals.
- Develop strong relationships with community members, customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee online community spaces across social media, forums, and messaging channels.
- Draft and share content such as campaigns, discussions, newsletters, and community announcements.
- Organize and support webinars, networking sessions, workshops, and other community events.
- Handle questions, comments, and feedback from the community in a prompt and professional way.
- Track engagement data, community sentiment, and new trends to guide improvements.
- Collect audience insights and communicate useful recommendations to marketing, product, and customer success teams.
- Work with internal departments to strengthen community initiatives and improve member experiences.
- Prepare regular updates on community growth, engagement results, and campaign performance.
Requirements
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, Social Sciences, or a closely related area.
- About 1 to 4+ years of experience in community management, customer engagement, social media, marketing, or similar work.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Good people skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Hands-on experience managing online communities and social engagement channels.
- Well-developed organizational skills and experience coordinating events.
- Creative thinking with the ability to build engaging campaigns and participation ideas.
- Analytical ability to understand engagement metrics and community feedback.
- A self-driven, adaptable, and customer-focused working style.
- Preferred: experience with community platforms such as Discord, Facebook Groups, LinkedIn, Reddit, Telegram, Slack, or similar tools.
- Preferred: familiarity with community management software, CRM platforms, social scheduling tools, and analytics systems.
- Preferred: background in SaaS, technology, gaming, education, e-commerce, nonprofit, or consumer-facing sectors.
- Preferred: knowledge of customer advocacy, influencer engagement, ambassador programs, or brand communities.
- Preferred: multilingual communication ability.
