Job description
Role overview
Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council is looking to appoint a Community Based Distributor (CBD) for Mudzi District in Mashonaland East Province. The position reports to the CBD Supervisor and is focused on extending family planning and related community health support at the local level.
Key duties
- Regularly evaluate family planning needs within the community and identify suitable actions to respond to those needs.
- Coordinate with other community-based workers and plan activities that address priorities in the catchment area.
- Prepare and implement a work plan that helps ensure clients receive high-quality family planning services through an integrated approach.
- Provide daily guidance and counselling to men, women, and parents on family planning, maternal and child health, STI, HIV/AIDS, menstrual hygiene management, sanitation, and hygiene.
- Use a door-to-door approach on a regular basis to identify, recruit, and retain family planning clients.
- Refer clients to health centres and youth centres for additional support and follow-up care when required.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants are expected to have at least five O Level passes.
