Role overview
This position is for a Commis II in the Food and Beverage & Culinary team at W Hotels in West Bay, Zone 61, Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, non-management role based on-site.
What you will do
- Get food items ready for cooking by portioning, chopping, and storing ingredients.
- Wash and peel fruits and vegetables before use.
- Measure, weigh, and combine ingredients accurately.
- Cook dishes following recipes, quality benchmarks, presentation rules, and food preparation checklists.
- Prepare cold food items as needed.
- Use kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Check food during cooking to confirm it is properly done.
- Watch food quality throughout the preparation process.
- Set up and close down the workstation before and after service.
- Plate food in the correct portions using the proper serving ware.
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen, work surfaces, utensils, knives, and other equipment.
- Verify that appliance and food temperatures are correct and safe.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by supervisors.

- Comply with company policies as well as health, safety, and security procedures.
- Report breakdowns, incidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager.
- Complete any required safety training and certifications.
- Keep your uniform and personal appearance neat and professional.
- Protect confidential company information and assets.

Physical requirements
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods, including an entire shift if needed.
- Perform movements such as reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Preferred qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role requires at least 1 year of relevant experience. No supervisory background is needed, and no license or certification is required.
