Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position in Kingston, Jamaica. The Collections & Support Officer will handle daily debt recovery activity by speaking with consumers, negotiating repayment, and working with management to refine collection methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Reach out to customers about overdue balances and payment status.
- Explain available payment choices and guide customers toward suitable ways to pay.
- Work out practical repayment arrangements with customers.
- Keep customer payment information accurate and up to date.
- Prepare and send final warning notices when payments remain outstanding.
- Initiate legal steps when customers do not settle their debts.
- Handle customer questions and follow up on concerns.
- Agree settlement terms to recover a defined share of the debt.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience or knowledge in debt collection and finance.
- Strong negotiation ability.
- Good analytical thinking to understand consumer behavior and shape targeted recovery approaches.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A bachelor’s degree or certificate in finance, business management, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with collection software.
