About the Role
IQVIA is hiring a Clinical Data Specialist (CDS/CDA) to support clinical data management activities across study lifecycles. This role is suited to someone with 1 to 6+ years of experience and is based across Kochi, Kolkata, Thane, Hyderabad, and Bangalore in a hybrid work setup.
The position involves providing foundational as well as more advanced data management support to the Clinical Data Management team, ensuring data deliverables are accurate, efficient, and aligned with customer expectations. In some cases, the role may also include team support or leadership duties under the supervision of a Data Operations Coordinator, Data Team Lead, or Functional Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Data Operations Coordinator for a single protocol with fewer than 5 operations staff, or for 15 or more simple to moderately complex central laboratory studies.
- Take ownership of specific data management activities in a leadership capacity, such as coding, testing, or database design for tools that do not require heavy programming knowledge, while working with guidance.
- Provide backup support to a Data Operations Coordinator or Data Team Lead when needed.
- Carry out data review activities as part of study support.
- Draft, track, and close data clarifications.
- Assist in leading database audit activities.
- Help build and test databases and update edit specifications.
- Support programming test activities.
- Perform clinical data coding tasks.
- Follow company operating procedures and working instructions carefully.
- Work toward assigned objectives and maintain effective communication with the Clinical Data Management team.
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues, managers, and clients.
Requirements
- 1 to 6+ years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor's degree in clinical, biological, or mathematical sciences, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered instead of a degree.
- Exposure to medical terminology.
- Strong organizational ability and communication skills.
- Leadership and computer proficiency.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when solving problems.
- Comfortable collaborating with coworkers, managers, and clients.
- Hands-on experience in study conduct, start-up, and close-out processes.
- Experience with Veeva, Rave, Medidata Rave, and clinical data management workflows.
Additional Information
Work location options include Kochi, Kolkata, Thane, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. The work model is hybrid.
