Job description

Role overview

The Client Manager for Singapore is tasked with expanding revenue from existing accounts across assigned territories and relevant market segments, with a primary focus on leisure retail agencies and, to a lesser extent, leisure groups. The portfolio also includes some tour operators in Singapore and nearby countries.

This position combines strategic account stewardship with active business development. It involves increasing the number of active accounts, meeting revenue goals for individual Belmond properties or regional property clusters, and adapting to changing territories, markets, and account assignments with 4 weeks’ notice based on business requirements and market conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • Create annual and quarterly sales action plans for each account, with the goal of surpassing revenue targets, and submit them for managerial approval.
  • Stay closely connected with property-level sales teams to keep product knowledge current and align selling strategy.
  • Work in partnership with property sales, revenue management, and reservations teams to close transient leads effectively.
  • Evaluate and qualify transient sales opportunities, following through to win bookings that meet the company’s desired business profile.
  • Review account productivity using internal and external data so customer targets can be met across past, current, and future periods.
  • Build strong working relationships with key contacts, decision-makers, bookers, and influencers in every owned account.
  • Deliver regular product training to accounts so the brand stays top of mind.
  • Organize events for selected key accounts and their clients throughout the year.
  • Share seasonal promotions across the global portfolio to help properties achieve budgeted revenue, especially during softer trading periods.
  • Use available selling, negotiation, and closing tools to improve conversion rates across the territory and account base.
  • Support the Director of Sales with annual sales series, partner sales events, and trade show participation.
  • Plan and, when needed, accompany educational trips to key destinations as part of the sales plan.
  • Represent the company at industry functions and meetings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with tourism boards, airlines, DMCs, and other industry partners.
  • Share market intelligence, including current conditions and new trends, with the direct manager.
  • Run an ongoing prospecting program to add new active accounts to the portfolio.
  • Use Tableau BI tools and carry out regular strategic analysis of markets, properties, and account performance.
  • Keep the account and contact database accurate and ensure all sales activity is logged in OSC.
  • Control expenses carefully and keep annual spend within the allocated budget.
  • Prepare production, account management, and other sales reports as requested.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in client management, sales, or a comparable role in hospitality or luxury travel.
  • A demonstrated history of meeting revenue targets and expanding important accounts.
  • Solid understanding of transient sales and commercial performance analysis.
  • Strong capability in account planning, lead conversion, and client relationship management.
  • Comfort using CRM systems and sales reporting tools; experience with OSC, Tableau, or similar BI/reporting platforms is an advantage.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, revenue, and reservations teams across multiple properties.
  • Availability and willingness to travel when needed.
