The company focuses on keeping insurance straightforward and member-friendly, while fostering an inclusive, energetic, and fast-moving environment.
This role is for a Claims Adjuster based in Alberta. The position involves handling a broad range of claims and helping members receive fair, prompt, and considerate service when they need support most.
Role Overview
As a Claims Adjuster, you will investigate, negotiate, and close claims across personal, auto, farm, commercial, liability, and injury lines. You will work within an assigned territory and be responsible for making sound decisions, documenting your work thoroughly, and managing claims through to resolution.
Key Responsibilities

- Explain policy coverage clearly to policyholders, claimants, and legal contacts.
- Escalate complex or high-value claims to senior claims leadership.
- Prepare detailed reports, evaluations, and claim file documentation.
- Represent the organization at industry and community events while building strong relationships.
- Inspect risks to inform underwriting and support loss prevention efforts.
- Travel within the assigned territory to complete on-site investigations.
- Contribute to process improvements and take on other duties as needed.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in the insurance sector, preferably in claims adjusting.
- Progress toward CIP designation, completion of CIP, or a willingness to pursue it.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with solid interpersonal ability.
- Confidence in interviewing, resolving disputes, and negotiating fair outcomes.
- Ability to interpret policy wording and make practical, timely judgments.
- Comfort with sensitive, complex, and occasionally high-pressure situations.
- Self-directed approach with the ability to handle changing priorities and a varied workload.
- Working knowledge of common office systems and reporting tools.
- Valid driver’s licence and readiness to travel regularly, including some overnight travel.
Working Conditions
This is a hands-on, mobile role. You will frequently travel to assess claims and may work in difficult settings such as damaged buildings, poor weather, or other hazardous conditions. The job calls for attention, flexibility, and the ability to respond effectively in real-world situations.
Perks and Benefits
- Competitive annual salary.
- Ongoing professional development, including support for CIP courses.
- Comprehensive health and wellness coverage for you and your family.
- Annual paid vacation.
- Flexible or hybrid work options where applicable.
- An earned day off every three weeks, equivalent to about 17 extra days off per year.
- Free electrified parking at head office.
- Two paid volunteer days per year.
