Company Overview
BAIAME BURRUL PTY LTD develops dependable, work-ready teams to support present and future mining and civil operations. The business connects both skilled and entry-level workers with meaningful, long-term opportunities across the sector. It places strong emphasis on safe work practices, capability building, and an inclusive workplace that welcomes Indigenous and non-Indigenous employees. By working with regional operations, the company responds to changing labour requirements in a practical, community-focused way and helps create pathways into ongoing work and career progression in mining and civil construction.
Role Overview
This is a full-time Civil Labourer position based on site in New South Wales, Australia. The role supports everyday civil construction and mining-related tasks, including preparing worksites, carrying out basic earthworks, trenching and backfilling, and helping install pipes, drains, and other infrastructure. You will also assist with or use light tools and equipment, move materials on and off site, keep work areas tidy, and follow instructions from supervisors and tradespeople.
Key Duties
The position requires close attention to workplace safety, participation in toolbox talks, and quick reporting of hazards or incidents. You may need to work outdoors in changing weather conditions and complete physically demanding tasks throughout the day while collaborating with a varied site team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Background in civil construction, mining support, or general labouring, with the ability to handle demanding outdoor work every day.
- Good knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements, including proper use of tools and equipment and compliance with site procedures.
- Solid communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to take direction, work respectfully with diverse crews, and help maintain a positive site environment.
- Practical ability to use hand and power tools, manage materials, and assist tradespeople or plant operators when needed.
- A current driver’s licence and dependable transport, plus the flexibility to travel to different sites across New South Wales as required.
- White Card (Construction Induction) is needed, or you must be willing to obtain it before starting; extra tickets such as traffic control or machinery qualifications are considered an advantage.
- Reliable, punctual, safety-focused, and interested in learning and building a long-term career in civil and mining work.
- Prior experience on Indigenous projects or in regional or remote locations is helpful but not mandatory.
Additional Information
The role may involve ongoing employment opportunities and growth within the civil and mining sectors. The workplace is described as inclusive and community-minded, with a focus on supporting both experienced and emerging workers.
