Role overview

This is a senior technology leadership role for a commercially minded executive who can help build an AI-led, world-class technology organisation. Reporting closely with the CEO and partnering with Product, Customer, and other executive leaders, you will drive the technology transformation, lift engineering capability, and help scale a large healthcare marketplace used by millions.

The organisation is looking for someone with strong technical depth, experience with consumer-scale or marketplace products, a track record of building high-performing teams, and a genuine commitment to customers, culture, and business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver the AI strategy and implementation roadmap.
• Integrate AI into product, engineering, operations, and customer-facing experiences.
• Use AI to strengthen customer outcomes, team productivity, and overall business performance.
• Improve engineering standards, delivery practices, and technical quality across the organisation.
• Strengthen accountability, performance management, and execution discipline.
• Increase delivery speed while protecting reliability and product quality.
• Assess the engineering structure, identify capability gaps, and determine leadership needs.
• Reorganise teams and leadership levels where necessary to improve effectiveness.
• Create stronger leadership development, succession planning, and career progression pathways.
• Advance architecture, infrastructure, security, and day-to-day operational practices.
• Improve scalability, reliability, system performance, and resilience.
• Build stronger capabilities across data, platform, and security functions.
• Work in close partnership with Product, Customer, Commercial, and Executive stakeholders.
• Contribute to company strategy and the long-term direction of technology.
• Lead and grow a high-calibre technology leadership team.

Requirements

• Demonstrated success leading engineering teams in fast-growing technology businesses.
• Deep technical understanding across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, platform design, data, and AI.
• Experience with consumer-scale products or marketplace platforms that serve large audiences.
• Proven ability to lead major technology change and organisational transformation.
• Strong commercial judgement and confidence working with executive stakeholders.
• Ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams and leaders.
• A customer-focused approach with strong attention to culture and business outcomes.
