Job description
Company Overview
Aegis Capital is a venture capital fund that backs founders working on global problems tied to an aging population. The firm supports technology-led ideas that strengthen health care and encourage healthier aging. It offers financial and strategic backing for innovative ventures, with investments of up to €1 million, mainly across the CEE region. The team prioritizes businesses with meaningful impact and the ability to scale, especially those that can improve the quality of life for older adults.
Team members collaborate closely with founders to speed up growth and build durable, long-term businesses.
Role Overview
The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the overall strategic, financial, and operational direction of Aegis Capital in a full-time remote role. This position requires shaping the fund’s long-term direction, sharpening investment focus around healthy aging, and overseeing how capital is deployed across the portfolio.
The CEO will manage sourcing and assessment of investment opportunities, guide investment committee decisions, and develop strong relationships with entrepreneurs, limited partners, and ecosystem partners. The role also includes running fund operations, leading cross-functional teams, establishing performance goals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and fiduciary obligations.
In addition, the CEO will lead fundraising efforts, represent Aegis Capital at industry events, and help build a culture grounded in integrity, innovation, and inclusive leadership.
Qualifications
We are looking for a leader with strong financial judgment and direct experience in finance or related investment and capital allocation work. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in operations leadership, with experience creating scalable systems and managing cross-functional teams.
Experience in business planning and strategic planning is important, along with a history of defining and executing a long-range organizational vision. Prior exposure to sales, fundraising, or investor relations is also valuable, especially within venture capital, private equity, or similar financial environments.
Executive leadership experience is preferred, particularly at the CEO, Managing Partner, or equivalent level in an investment or high-growth setting. A strong understanding of venture capital, startup ecosystems, and technology-driven business models is essential, while experience in health care or healthy aging would be an added advantage.
The role also calls for excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, plus the ability to work effectively across international and remote environments. An advanced degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is preferred, though comparable practical experience may also be considered.
Additional Information
This is a full-time remote leadership position.
