Role overview

The hiring organization is a diversified holding group with businesses across FMCG, hospitality, healthcare, retail, construction, real estate, fintech, telecommunications, and other strategic industries. As part of a wider transformation effort, it is creating a centralized AI office to speed up adoption of artificial intelligence, raise efficiency, improve decision-making, and create new business value across the portfolio.

This AI office will function as a shared strategic capability, working with each subsidiary to pinpoint, rank, and deliver AI initiatives while also setting group-wide governance, standards, and good practices.

Key purpose of the role

Reporting to the Group CEO, the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer will create and lead the Enterprise AI Office for the group. The role is responsible for setting the AI vision, strategy, operating model, and governance structure.

The CAIO will collaborate with CEOs and senior leadership teams across the subsidiaries to identify high-impact opportunities where AI can enhance operational performance, customer experience, employee productivity, risk management, and commercial results.

The position also includes oversight of the group AI roadmap, assessment of enterprise AI solutions, design of governance policies, management of strategic partnerships with AI vendors, and assurance that AI initiatives remain aligned with business priorities and regulatory expectations.

In addition to the technology agenda, the CAIO will drive organisational change by building AI awareness, encouraging responsible adoption, and helping create an innovation-minded culture that enables the businesses to use AI effectively.

This is an enterprise-level leadership role with accountability for AI strategy, investment prioritisation, governance, and measurable business outcomes.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate brings deep executive-level experience in Artificial Intelligence, digital transformation, enterprise technology, innovation, or strategy within large and complex organizations.

Demonstrated success in leading large transformation programmes, shaping AI or digital strategies, and working with C-suite stakeholders is essential. Strong commercial judgement, excellent stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and the ability to turn emerging technologies into practical business value are important.

Experience in diversified groups or multi-business environments across the GCC will be a strong advantage.
