Role Overview
This role supports the Channel Marketing Manager in shaping channel strategies and delivering effective consumer and trade promotions. The position works closely with internal teams and external partners, especially Sales, to create strong plans and execute them with a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Sales Managers to align on the channel marketing plan, calendar, activities, and promotional schedule.
- Design channel-specific initiatives for customers, including consumer and trade promotions, sampling programmes, and customer activation efforts.
- Identify and arrange premiums and prizes for campaigns, and work with the Market Planning team to create supporting marketing materials.
- Monitor in-store execution of promotions, POSM, equipment placement, marketing initiatives, and new product launches.
- Review promotion outcomes after campaigns to understand what performed well and what did not.
- Keep a close watch on spending so that campaign costs stay within budget.
- Assess business and brand performance by channel and by key retailers/trade customers, then spot opportunities and implement plans or corrective actions to keep targets on track.
- Track competitor activity across channels, evaluate the potential impact on the business, and recommend responses when needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline is required.
- Applicants should have 2 to 3 years of experience in brand management, trade marketing, or sales within the FMCG industry.
- Capability to build and execute channel strategies and plans is essential.
- Must be able to independently manage the full cycle of consumer and trade promotions, from planning and organisation to execution and evaluation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are needed to work effectively across functions and departments.
- Good project coordination skills and careful follow-through are important for success in this position.
