Casino Porter

Position summary

This role is for a high-energy casino porter who puts guest service first and helps keep the casino and public spaces spotless. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while following all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The position is closely tied to the casino’s entertainment-focused culture and requires a collaborative, adaptable, and service-oriented approach.

Core duties

• Carry out routine and specialized cleaning across the casino, including the gaming floor, kitchens, and back-of-house areas.
• Handle physically demanding tasks, including moving and operating heavy cleaning equipment.
• Use cleaning chemicals and a range of cleaning machines safely and effectively.
• Deliver a strong guest experience for both internal and external guests in a high-contact service role.
• Maintain washrooms in public spaces and staff areas.
• Build positive working relationships with guests, ownership, coworkers, vendors, and regulators.
• Follow licensing rules, health and safety requirements, and other applicable laws and standards.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and expectations

• Alignment with the organization’s guest-first, upbeat, and service-driven culture is essential.
• Eligibility for certification through the Nova Scotia Alcohol & Gaming Division is required.
• Reliable attendance is expected.
• Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment such as burnishers, buffers, and carpet extractors is needed.
• Availability to work backshift hours is required.
• Experience with cleaning products and procedures is an advantage.
• WHMIS knowledge is considered an asset.
• Capability to lift up to 40 lbs is required.
• Strong communication, teamwork, prioritization, and time-management skills are important.
• Excellent guest service skills are expected.

Working conditions

This position involves extended periods of standing and walking, along with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stretching, and bending. Schedule flexibility is required.
