Job description
Role Overview
This position focuses on managing the organization’s capital and operating budgets, along with building and maintaining a management information system for Capex-related work. The role calls for solid financial planning knowledge, budgeting capability, and familiarity with the renewable energy sector.
Key Accountabilities
Capex Budget Management
- Create, track, and control the company’s annual capital expenditure budget.
- Partner with teams across the business to assess investment requirements and ensure they support broader strategic plans.
- Examine project proposals, financial rationale, and feasibility assessments to confirm that resources are being used effectively.
- Monitor actual Capex spend against budget and share periodic progress updates with leadership.
Opex Budget Management
- Support the preparation and management of the operating expense budget, including routine costs tied to operations and maintenance.
- Coordinate with department leaders to understand their spending needs, estimate future costs, and keep expenses under control.
- Perform variance reviews to spot budget deviations and recommend corrective actions.
- Observe Opex patterns and help introduce measures that reduce cost while preserving efficiency.
Capex MIS Development and Maintenance
- Build and sustain a detailed MIS for Capex activities, covering project monitoring, financial review, and performance tracking.
- Prepare recurring reports and dashboards that highlight Capex usage, project progress, and financial outcomes.
- Work with IT teams to safeguard data accuracy, system stability, and security.
- Look for automation opportunities and apply tools or software that improve process efficiency.
Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Carry out financial evaluations such as ROI and payback calculations to judge the usefulness of capital investments.
- Draft forecasts, presentations, and financial reports for senior leaders and other stakeholders.
- Use analysis findings to guide investment choices and strategic priorities.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Make sure Capex activities follow internal policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory rules.
- Spot financial and operational risks linked to capital spending and help reduce them.
- Work with internal audit and risk teams to close control gaps and strengthen mitigation plans.
Experience and Qualification
Candidates should have 2 to 4 years of post-qualification experience. A CA qualification is mandatory.
