Role overview

We’re seeking a driven Business Development Executive to create new sales opportunities and generate leads for an IT services and solutions company. The role calls for someone who is outcomes-focused, comfortable with outbound prospecting, and familiar with B2B sales processes. A working knowledge of software development, AI-enabled solutions, cloud services, and digital transformation offerings is important for success in this position.

Key responsibilities

  • Reach out to prospective clients through LinkedIn, email outreach, cold prospecting, and other lead-generation channels.
  • Identify, develop, and nurture Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) until they become Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs).
  • Screen prospects with ICP and BANT criteria to judge fit and buying potential.
  • Research markets and profile target accounts to find the right prospects and decision-makers.
  • Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator to support account-based outreach and prospect discovery.
  • Record and maintain lead details, follow-up actions, and opportunity status in CRM tools.
  • Arrange discovery meetings and calls for the sales team.
  • Work closely with marketing and delivery teams to contribute to growth initiatives.
  • Keep the sales funnel active and monitor outreach and performance metrics.
  • Follow developments in the IT services space and stay informed about emerging technology trends.

Required qualifications

  • 0 to 1 year of experience in B2B sales, business development, or lead generation.
  • Practical understanding of IT services, software development, AI, cloud offerings, and digital transformation solutions.
  • Experience qualifying leads using MQL, SQL, ICP, and BANT methods.
  • Strong ability to prospect and build a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM platforms such as HubSpot and Salesforce.
  • Exposure to LinkedIn Sales Navigator for outreach and lead discovery.
  • Familiarity with email marketing tools and sales engagement platforms.
  • Experience using data-mining and prospecting tools like Apollo.io, SalesQL, Lusha, and RocketReach.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and goal-driven work style.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with decision-makers and stakeholders across industries.
  • BBA, MBA, or a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Prior exposure to sales in IT services, software development, SaaS, AI, or technology consulting is an advantage.

Performance expectations

  • Number of qualified meetings scheduled.
  • Conversion rate from MQL to SQL.
  • Size of the pipeline generated.
  • Opportunities initiated.
  • Outreach volume and response performance.
