About the Role

Spotify is seeking an experienced business development leader to help expand Premium distribution partnerships across the APAC region. In this position, you will lead strategic partner deals that support subscriber growth and deeper engagement, while shaping the long-term partnership strategy for priority markets. The role is based in Singapore or Seoul and reports to the APAC Director of Business Development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, shape, negotiate, finalize, amend, and oversee high-value distribution partnerships across APAC that contribute to Spotify’s growth plans.
  • Build and sharpen partner strategies for key markets together with the regional lead, including market analysis, prioritization, and forecasting.
  • Act as the main relationship owner for partners, working confidently with stakeholders from executive leadership through marketing and commercial teams.
  • Review existing partnerships to find ways to increase value, improve outcomes, and identify expansion opportunities.
  • Drive internal approvals and work closely with senior stakeholders in areas such as Legal, Finance, Accounting, and Product.
  • Coordinate cross-functional internal teams to keep deal milestones aligned, clear, and moving on schedule.
  • Maintain a pipeline of potential partners and evaluate commercial opportunities through strong analysis and business case development.
  • Travel across APAC as required to support negotiations, execution, and partner relationship management.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of meaningful experience in business development or strategic partnerships within APAC, preferably in sectors such as telecom, OEM, payments, entertainment, or digital platforms. Strong fluency in both English and Korean is mandatory, and knowledge of additional APAC languages is an advantage.

You should have a proven history of structuring and closing complex enterprise deals and growing partnerships that create measurable business impact. Practical knowledge of APAC market dynamics is important, with particularly strong regional exposure in Korea, Thailand, or Indonesia considered a major plus.

This role calls for both strategic thinking and strong operational follow-through. You should be comfortable in multicultural, fast-paced environments, skilled in contract negotiation and legal collaboration, and able to work effectively with product, engineering, and design teams. You will also need to translate technical ideas clearly for non-technical audiences, build financial models, create persuasive business cases, and communicate with senior stakeholders in a concise and influential way. Initiative, resilience, commercial judgment, and the ability to independently take deals from idea to launch are essential. A BA/BS degree with strong academic results is required; an MBA is beneficial. Experience using basic AI tools is also expected.

Work Location

This position can be based in Singapore or Seoul, South Korea. The setup offers flexibility to work from home, while still involving some in-person meetings.
