Role overview
Legrand Singapore is looking for a commercially minded Business Development Manager to accelerate growth in the semiconductor sector. The position is centered on uncovering new opportunities, shaping long-term partnerships, and increasing the use of Legrand solutions among semiconductor manufacturers, fabs, and the wider ecosystem. The right person will combine strong market knowledge with a solid technical grasp of medium-voltage and low-voltage power systems, smart building and manufacturing solutions, and energy efficiency, along with a proven history of B2B selling in high-tech or semiconductor environments.
What you will do
- Identify, develop, and pursue new commercial opportunities across the semiconductor landscape, including fabs, OSATs, and equipment makers.
- Create and implement account-focused growth plans for priority segments and target customers.
- Study the market to understand emerging trends, customer priorities, and competitive dynamics.
- Support product and system specification activities with semiconductor end users and consultants so Legrand solutions are included in upcoming tenders.
- Develop trusted relationships with stakeholders across engineering, procurement, and leadership teams.
- Serve as the main contact for strategic accounts in the semiconductor sector.
- Assess customer technical needs and match them to Legrand’s solution portfolio.
- Manage the sales journey end to end, from lead generation through to contract closure.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to adapt solutions for semiconductor use cases.
- Convert customer feedback into product requirements and insights for R&D.
- Track competitor movements and broader industry changes.
- Share market intelligence to improve positioning and go-to-market plans.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Business, or a comparable field.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or key account management in semiconductor or similar high-tech industries.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and the supporting ecosystem.
- Technical familiarity with medium- and low-voltage power systems, smart buildings, and energy efficiency.
- A practical, growth-oriented mindset with the ability to support organizational change.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to earn alignment from internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in a complex and fast-changing environment.
- Understanding of P&L concepts is considered a strong advantage.
- Hands-on experience using Salesforce CRM.
