Job description

Role overview

Global-e is growing its footprint across APAC and is hiring a motivated Business Development Executive (SDR) to join the Sales Development team in Melbourne. The role centers on building the top of the funnel by identifying, qualifying, and engaging direct-to-consumer brands across a range of industries. You will work closely with the sales team to create new pipeline opportunities and contribute to revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the early part of the sales process by cleaning data, screening target accounts and contacts, and preparing strong-fit leads for outreach using tools such as HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, SimilarWeb, UserGems, and similar platforms.
  • Research and pinpoint prospective brands that fit Global-e’s ideal customer profile.
  • Connect with key decision-makers through multi-channel outreach, including email, phone, LinkedIn, events, and other methods, to build interest and book qualified demos.
  • Review each prospect’s cross-border approach, checkout journey, and shipping/tax setup to personalize outreach and uncover business challenges.
  • Use buying intent, engagement signals, and organizational changes to guide outreach strategy.
  • Keep CRM information current and accurate to support clean data and sales readiness.
  • Work with Sales and Partnerships to coordinate pipeline-building efforts and stay aligned on market trends.
  • Meet monthly targets for demos and pipeline generation, with a strong emphasis on creating new pipeline.
  • Bring useful insights on industry movement, competitor positioning, and best practices into team conversations.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in sales or business development is preferred, ideally within SaaS, eCommerce, or cross-border technology.
  • Comfort engaging, qualifying, and influencing senior stakeholders such as Directors, VPs, and C-level leaders across multiple industries.
  • Familiarity with sales tools such as HubSpot, Sales Navigator, SimilarWeb, and similar platforms is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical thinking with an interest in improving both individual and business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication abilities with a clear, concise, and persuasive style.
  • Highly organized, detail-focused, and comfortable in a fast-moving, target-oriented environment.
  • Self-driven and collaborative, with the ability to work independently toward goals.
  • Ability to commute to the Melbourne office three times per week.
  • Must be based in Australia and hold the required right to work.

Work setup

This is an onsite role with a hybrid-style office attendance expectation of three days per week in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
