Job description

About the role

The Careers Department is a SaaS platform supporting 800 schools across Australia. Its mission is to help students think about future pathways and career possibilities at a scale that reaches school and university communities.

This position focuses on expanding and reinforcing the company’s visibility and relationships with external partners. It is a hands-on outbound sales and partnerships role for someone who enjoys creating new opportunities, speaking regularly with prospects, and driving conversations from initial contact through to qualified meetings.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and run outbound outreach campaigns aimed at schools and industry partners.
  • Book qualified meetings and identify opportunities for the Partnerships Lead to progress.
  • Make a large volume of outbound calls and keep up persistent follow-up activity.
  • Investigate target organisations to find the right decision-makers in education and industry.
  • Reach out to prospects through phone, email, and LinkedIn.
  • Keep CRM records current and ensure activity is logged accurately.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant will have around 2 years of experience in outbound prospecting or similar SDR/BDR work. Comfort speaking with senior stakeholders over the phone is important, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, self-driven, resilient, and willing to put in the effort required for outbound sales. Good organisation, strong time management, and the ability to stay persistent through longer sales cycles are also key. Experience with CRM tools is preferred. Background in education or technology is a plus, though not mandatory.

Growth opportunity

This role offers the chance to join a mission-led organisation with room to grow. While the initial focus will be on phone-based outreach, the successful candidate may progress into a Partnerships Manager position within 12 months.
