Job description
About The Role
Learnosity is hiring a Business Development Executive to drive growth in untapped markets and emerging territories. This role focuses on inside sales, where the individual will independently identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities. Ideal candidates are technically savvy, commercially motivated, and looking to manage a full sales cycle.
You will primarily work from the Dublin office three days a week, handling smaller deals within US white space accounts, secondary EMEA markets, and small to medium corporate and vocational learning clients. Reporting directly to the SVP of Business Development, you will carry a new logo annual recurring revenue (ARR) quota of $200,000. Deals capped at $50,000 ARR will be managed by you; larger deals will be escalated to senior colleagues with compensation credits retained.
About Learnosity
Learnosity leads in assessment API platforms, serving global publishers, edtech firms, and educational institutions to deliver assessment, item authoring, and learning analytics. Our APIs support products used by millions globally. As a product-focused, API-first company, our sales activities are highly technical, targeting sophisticated buyers and fostering long-term partnerships.
Operating at the forefront of edtech, Learnosity integrates with evolving AI and large language model (LLM) technologies, providing foundational infrastructure to support publishers and institutions adapting their AI initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively perform outbound prospecting targeting defined white space accounts.
- Qualify inbound leads that do not fit senior BD team territories.
- Manage and develop a target account list within assigned segments maintaining at least a 3x pipeline coverage ratio.
- Own the complete sales process for deals up to $50,000 ARR: discovery, product demos, negotiation, and contract closure.
- Collaborate with Solutions Engineering for technical evaluations when necessary.
- Escalate larger deals above $50,000 ARR to senior BD staff while retaining agreed revenue credits.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline and forecast updates.
- Adhere to the company’s commercial and pricing frameworks for all sales.
- Gather and communicate market intelligence including buyer objections and competitor insights, specifically relating to AI and LLM trends.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- 2-3 years B2B sales experience in SaaS or technology sectors, with exposure to sales engineering, pre-sales, or business development.
- Proven ability to independently manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to deal closing.
- Solid technical understanding of SaaS products, APIs, and developer-oriented platforms.
- Practical experience leveraging large language models (LLMs) in sales activities to enhance outcomes.
- Competence in CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, for pipeline and activity tracking.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of clear outreach and calls across multiple time zones.
- Willingness to work from the Dublin office within a hybrid model, three days onsite weekly, with right to work in Ireland.
Preferred Experience
- Interest or experience in education technology, corporate learning, or vocational training markets.
- Familiarity with API-based or platform software sales.
- Experience with outbound prospecting and sales engagement technologies.
- Educational background in engineering or computer science is an advantage.
Location and Work Arrangement
This position is located in Dublin, Ireland, with a hybrid working schedule requiring three days in-office presence weekly.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers a competitive base salary complemented by a variable compensation aligned with achieving an annual new logo ARR quota of $200,000. When opportunities are passed to senior colleagues due to size but originated by this role, partial compensation credit and quota counting apply. Comprehensive details will be provided to prospective candidates.
Company Values
- Committed to continuous learning.
- Driven to exceed expectations.
- Dedicated to ethical practices.
- Focused on shared success and collaboration.
