Role overview

ImpetusIT is seeking a Business Data Analyst for an ecommerce client through one of its staffing partners. The role calls for a mix of business analysis, data analysis, and some data science capability to help drive better decisions through data.

The position is based in Tempe, AZ and is open only to applicants located in the USA. The compensation range provided is $55,000 to $70,000 per year. Direct applicants only.

What you will do

• Gather, prepare, and clean datasets so they are ready for analysis.
• Build statistical models and machine learning solutions to support forecasting and decision-making.
• Create charts, dashboards, and presentations that clearly communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Interpret business needs and convert them into practical, data-backed solutions.
• Develop BI dashboards and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators.
• Apply data science methods to uncover patterns, relationships, and predictive insights.
• Work with cloud data environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP for processing and analysis.
• Partner with business and technical teams to deliver insights that strengthen strategy.
• Perform data modeling, cleansing, and transformation to improve data quality.
• Improve data pipelines and related workflows to make cloud-based operations more efficient.

What the role calls for

• Hands-on experience with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Qlik.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python, R, or similar analytics languages.
• Solid understanding of data visualization, dashboard design, and storytelling with data.
• Comfort working across functions with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Awareness of machine learning concepts and how they can be used in business analysis.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of machine learning and statistical analysis.
• Experience handling large datasets and databases.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
