Role overview
DBiz is hiring a Business Analyst for its Singapore team to support digital initiatives and contribute to technology transformation work. The position involves delivery across multiple client projects and close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to design solutions that are practical, user-focused, and aligned with business goals. The ideal candidate is expected to be self-driven, resourceful, comfortable working with technology, and able to influence stakeholders effectively. This role will also involve applying digital and AI-based approaches depending on project needs.
Primary responsibilities
- Gather business requirements by mapping service journeys and shaping business cases through quick prototyping.
- Translate needs into user stories, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria, and use prototypes to test and validate those requirements.
- Assess and suggest suitable technologies, including AI tools, by experimenting hands-on and staying aligned with the project’s technical direction and central solutions.
- Select the most appropriate delivery approach for each assignment, such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Confirm that systems are deployment-ready and evaluate how proposed changes will affect operations.
- Spot opportunities where digital transformation can improve processes or outcomes.
- Define the product vision, roadmap, and goals so they support the wider business strategy.
- Present product strategy clearly and use data to guide decisions.
- Contribute to planning discussions by being able to code and refine ideas during sessions.
- Run workshops, focus groups, and sprint review sessions when needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline.
- At least 4 years of experience in IT business analysis, solution design, and testing.
- Experience completing at least one full software or product development cycle, with Agile experience preferred.
- Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence others.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work with users at different levels and guide discussions.
- A proactive, motivated, and curious mindset.
- Capability to code and iterate during planning sessions and facilitate workshops.
Preferred and good-to-have skills
Added value includes a Business Analysis certification such as CBAP, prior development or consulting exposure, experience in Agile, Knowledge Management, or Service Design, and familiarity with tools such as Figma, Miro, and Jira. Experience leading workshops, focus groups, and sprint reviews is also desirable, along with knowledge of data analytics and product metrics. Certifications like Scrum Master or Product Owner are a plus. Exposure to development workflows using SHIP/HATS, GitHub, or GitLab, rapid application development platforms such as OutSystems, and content management systems such as Sitefinity or SharePoint Online will be helpful. Familiarity with government development tools and CI/CD concepts, including SHIP/HATS, is an advantage. Experience with modern web technologies such as React, JavaScript, Python, Java, or .NET (C#) would also be beneficial.
