Job description

Overview

Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering organization is driving major change in analytics through a wide portfolio that includes databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging and real-time analytics, and business intelligence. Its products include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. The team’s goal is to build the data platform for the AI era, support a new generation of data-centric applications, and help create a stronger data-driven culture.

Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team develops and supports the operating system that gives customers a unified data stack for managing an entire data estate. This platform is designed to deliver a consistent experience, unified governance, a unified business model, and a unified architecture.

Microsoft values differences in perspective and actively seeks them out, believing that diverse viewpoints help serve customers better and strengthen the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex calendars and coordinate meetings for senior leaders, including executive-level leaders such as a Corporate Vice President, while aligning schedules with business priorities and personal working preferences.
  • Organize meeting logistics by arranging rooms, ensuring attendance, resolving audio-video and technical issues, and preparing agendas, briefings, and pre-reads.
  • Use business judgment to resolve calendar conflicts, identify delegates when needed, prioritize commitments, and keep the manager informed.
  • Build strong relationships across teams and organizations to support leaders and act as a communication bridge between executives and their teams.
  • Take an active role in the Business Support community by helping colleagues grow, mentoring less experienced teammates, and onboarding new staff.
  • Plan and run events end to end, including schedules, checkpoints, coordination with stakeholders, issue resolution, and escalation when needed.
  • Demonstrate professional presence, lead by example, and encourage reflection and positive behavior in challenging situations.
  • Manage several projects at once, balancing deadlines while maintaining strong operational execution and accountability.
  • Track discretionary budgets and coordinate expense management with Finance, including supporting documentation and reporting.
  • Help implement the rhythm of business and support ongoing business cadence and operational routines.
  • Maintain team space and seating information where location-based responsibilities apply, including office assignments, private rooms, transitional spaces, and remote status.
  • Support team management activities such as recruitment coordination, onboarding, offboarding, and team experience initiatives.
  • Arrange travel logistics for managers and teams, including accommodation, transportation, security, group codes, itineraries, and agenda planning.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in administrative, business support, or customer service roles, with a strong focus on meeting and event scheduling, travel coordination, and executive-level administrative support.
  • Ability to satisfy Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check at hiring/transfer and every two years after that.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, or Sociology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience mentoring others.
  • At least 3 years of experience reviewing and managing administrative budgets, such as budgets for events, morale, travel, or training.

Additional Information

This role may require the candidate to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check on joining or transfer and again every two years.

The listed base pay range for the U.S. is USD 31.49 to 51.97 per hour. For roles based in the San Francisco Bay Area and the New York City metropolitan area, the pay range is USD 42.93 to 59.33 per hour.

Certain roles may qualify for benefits and additional compensation.

The role remains open for at least 5 days, and applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
