Job description
Role overview
We are looking for a Business Administration Support team member to join the Darwin office on a permanent, full-time basis. This position is a key part of the Customer Service team and reports to the Customer Service Manager. It suits someone who enjoys sales activity, building customer relationships, and contributing directly to revenue growth within an existing client base in the pest services space.
The role combines customer service, sales support, and administrative work. Success in this position comes from proactively connecting with customers, identifying opportunities to expand services, and taking ownership of outcomes. A confident, hands-on approach and a willingness to support the wider branch through cross-skilling are important.
Key responsibilities
- Run planned outbound calling activity, including welcome calls and regular follow-ups, to strengthen customer relationships, understand needs, and support sales and retention targets.
- Handle customer queries and concerns as the first contact point, resolving issues promptly or coordinating the right support while looking for opportunities to convert enquiries into sales.
- Act as the main contact for assigned customers or territory accounts, with a focus on saving at-risk contracts, retaining business, and uncovering renewal or expansion opportunities.
- Carry out general administrative tasks such as responding to enquiries and completing transactions, while using those interactions to identify leads and sales opportunities.
- Provide strong customer service that helps build trust, encourages repeat business, and supports referrals.
- Keep accurate records of customer communications, sales activity, follow-ups, and opportunities in the relevant systems and databases.
- Coordinate with sales and service delivery teams to meet customer needs and develop practical solutions that support sales growth.
- Track daily activity and performance measures, including conversion results, inbound and outbound sales activity, and retention outcomes.
Requirements
- Background in customer service or a call centre environment is essential.
- Experience in a sales environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Comfortable working across multiple database systems and email platforms; experience with word processing and spreadsheets is desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to stay calm under pressure while managing several tasks at once.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Committed to delivering an excellent customer experience.
- Works well in a team and supports colleagues.
- Professional, dependable, and punctual.
- Accurate data entry skills.
