Role overview

The Board Member will help steer the organization through strategic leadership, strong governance, and oversight. This position supports the mission and long-term vision while keeping the organization effective, compliant, and financially stable. The role calls for someone with deep organizational understanding, strong boardroom experience, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to executive-level decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Chair and contribute to board meetings, ensuring discussions lead to clear governance decisions and sound strategic direction.
  • Review the organization’s priorities and provide guidance that supports long-term growth and goal achievement.
  • Oversee financial health by monitoring budgets, reviewing financial performance, and supporting fiscal discipline.
  • Help build and maintain compliance and legal controls so the organization meets all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Participate in identifying, assessing, and reducing organizational risks.
  • Represent the organization externally and communicate its mission, values, and objectives to stakeholders and the wider community.
  • Support and mentor senior leaders to encourage collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
  • Contribute to policies that uphold ethical standards and reflect good governance practices.
  • Work with other board members to define leadership expectations and organizational performance measures.
  • Assist in creating and strengthening strategic partnerships that expand the organization’s influence and impact.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of experience in executive or senior management roles in a relevant sector, with a strong record of strategic leadership.
  • Prior board service and a solid understanding of governance principles and fiduciary duties.
  • Background in financial oversight, including budgeting, reporting, and risk evaluation.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and ethical obligations.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and turn it into practical executive-level recommendations.
  • Proven success in stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and relationship management.
  • Experience shaping organizational culture around mission-driven outcomes.
  • Ability to coach and support senior executives and help strengthen the leadership pipeline.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to represent organizational values clearly to internal and external audiences.
  • Capability to handle complex organizational challenges and support change initiatives effectively.

Additional information

This is an in-person leadership position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role is focused on executive governance, ethical leadership, and long-term organizational sustainability.
