About the role
An opening is available for a BMS Technician within the Engineering team at Jumeirah Jabal Omar. The position focuses on supporting the smooth running of building systems and ensuring the reliability of the Building Management System.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the engineering team with day-to-day maintenance by keeping the Building Management System running effectively.
- Install, set up, program, and diagnose BMS hardware and software in line with approved point schedules, wiring diagrams, and operational needs.
- Conduct commissioning and testing for BMS software, controllers, sensors, and other field devices, both on site and through remote support.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance and fault-finding for BMS installations to maintain dependable system performance.
- Build, wire, assemble, and test control panels while ensuring safety compliance and engineering standards are met.
- Connect BMS and REMS with the IT environment by setting network parameters and using standard communication protocols such as BACnet/IP and Modbus TCP/IP.
- Track alarms, trends, and system behavior to help improve energy efficiency and operational performance.
- Keep technical files accurate and updated, including backups, drawings, and system documentation.
- Follow hotel requirements along with Fire & Life Safety, Health, and Environmental rules and procedures.
- Stay current with new technologies, training, and best practices in the BMS and automation field.
Requirements
- Diploma in Industrial Automation, Electrical & Electronics, Controls, or a closely related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a comparable BMS or automation position.
- Hands-on familiarity with leading BMS systems such as Honeywell, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Distech, or similar platforms.
- Solid knowledge of BMS communications, including BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP networking.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and software used for engineering tasks.
