Role overview
This short-term remote contract is for a phylogenetics specialist who can help evaluate and improve AI-generated scientific content. The assignment is focused on checking biological accuracy, reasoning quality, and the overall realism of phylogenetics-related problems, research tasks, and assessment scenarios.
The work is expected to last about 15 to 20 hours, with compensation set at $70 per hour. The role is remote and requires availability for at least 8 hours each day, including a minimum 4-hour overlap with PST.
Key responsibilities
- Review AI-created phylogenetics questions, research prompts, and evaluation cases.
- Judge whether the material is scientifically sound, practical, and graded appropriately.
- Check AI responses for biological correctness, depth of reasoning, and completeness.
- Spot scientific mistakes, weak logic, and missing elements in phylogenetics-related outputs.
- Write clear annotations, detailed feedback, and quality evaluations that help improve model outputs.
- Work with AI research teams to strengthen evaluation processes and benchmark quality.
- Use expertise in phylogenetics and evolutionary biology to support advanced AI model development.
Requirements
- A master’s or PhD in Phylogenetics, Evolutionary Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Computational Biology, Life Sciences, or a similar discipline, or at least 4 years of professional experience in phylogenetics.
- Strong analytical ability, scientific judgment, and research skills.
- Capability to provide thorough feedback and high-quality annotations.
- Good structured communication and collaboration skills for remote work.
- Self-directed and able to work without close supervision.
- Available to begin immediately and commit around 15 to 20 hours over the next few days.
- Able to work 8 hours per day with at least 4 hours overlapping PST.
- Access to a desktop or laptop and a dependable internet connection.
