Biology / Environmental Science Evaluator

Role overview

This is a fully remote independent contractor role for a Biology / Environmental Science Evaluator. The work involves reviewing outputs created by advanced AI models and judging their accuracy, analytical depth, and overall quality. The engagement is paid on an hourly basis and follows a flexible, self-directed schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Examine Biology and Environmental Science deliverables produced by models and check them for correctness, rigor, and presentation quality.
• Assess documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks using defined grading criteria and quality rubrics.
• Spot factual mistakes, missing analysis, formatting or presentation problems, and other quality issues across the work samples.
• Write feedback that is specific, well-structured, and practical enough to improve future model outputs.
• Support ongoing improvement of domain-specific model performance through expert evaluation.

Compensation and engagement details

Pay is set at $80 to $120 per hour. Payments are issued weekly through Stripe or Wise. This is an independent contractor arrangement, and additional project work may be offered depending on business requirements and performance.

Requirements

• Strong subject-matter knowledge in Biology and/or Environmental Science.
• Ability to evaluate domain materials against field-specific quality expectations and rubrics.
• Experience identifying scientific inaccuracies, reasoning gaps, and presentation shortcomings.
• Clear written communication skills with the ability to produce concise, actionable feedback.
• Fluency in English at native or professional level.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, especially PowerPoint and Google Slides.
• A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline is preferred.
