About Centrillion Technologies
Centrillion Technologies specializes in creating cutting-edge DNA Chips utilized across various groundbreaking applications such as whole genome sequencing, spatial biology, digital pathology, next generation genotyping, synthetic biology, and DNA computing. Our advanced high-resolution spatial chips and unique chemistry and lithographic encoding designs are licensed to a leading genomics company for exclusive spatial genomics products in the US, alongside our own spatial chips designed for single-cell level genomics and digital pathology.
Located in Palo Alto, our facility serves as a research hub integrating expertise in chemistry, biochemistry, genomics, electronics, artificial intelligence, and bioinformatics. Focus areas currently include chromosome-scale DNA sequencing, next generation genotyping, and pioneering research in DNA computing.
Our Molecular Vision Laboratory leads genetic mutation identification in vision disorders, backed by venture capital and with operations across Silicon Valley, Portland, OR, and throughout the Asia Pacific region.
Role Overview
As a Bioinformatics Analyst, you will spearhead the development of computational algorithms and pipelines for analyzing genomic and biomedical datasets. Your responsibilities will include performing analytical benchmarking of tools, supporting product development and client projects, exploring innovative data analysis techniques, and fulfilling tasks as directed by your supervisor. Collaboration with internal disciplines such as molecular biology, engineering, manufacturing, as well as external academic and clinical partners, will be key.
Positions Available
There are two openings: an entry-level position requiring a bachelor's degree and a mid-level position preferring a master's degree.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, or related computational science fields.
- Understanding of next generation sequencing, genotyping, and related biotechnologies.
- Familiarity with algorithms and pipelines for analyzing NGS data.
- Programming proficiency in C++, Python, Perl, or R.
- Ability to quickly acquire new skills and technologies.
- Strong teamwork and effective communication capabilities.
Preferred Expertise
- Knowledge of machine learning methods.
- Experience deploying NGS bioinformatics pipelines and tools.
- Familiarity with genomic software such as Mutect, Varscan2, BWA, GATK, SAMTools.
- Experience with genomic databases like Cosmic and TCGA.
- Understanding different sequencing assays and data types, e.g., WGS, Exome, RNA-seq.
- Skills in BASH scripting and working with Unix/Linux command line utilities.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database systems.
Additional Information
Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States, as Centrillion is unable to sponsor employment visas currently.
The salary range for these roles is approximately $65,000 to $90,000 annually, with final compensation influenced by multiple factors including expertise and location. Eligible positions may also receive bonuses, equity awards, and comprehensive financial, health, and wellness benefits.
