Job description

About Tate

Tate is an independent brand within the Kingspan Group and has built a global reputation over more than 60 years as a leader in data centre infrastructure solutions and raised access floors for commercial offices. With annual revenue exceeding $500 million and a growing footprint, the company works closely with clients as a trusted technical and design partner.

The business operates across 12 manufacturing sites in the US, Europe, and Australia, and continues to expand through investment in modern equipment, fresh ideas, and a diverse, collaborative team. Its sustainability approach is shaped by a commitment to accelerating a net-zero built environment with people and planet at the centre.

About the Role

This Dublin-based position is responsible for directing the full bid and tender journey for complex construction and mission-critical projects. The successful candidate will apply deep Quantity Surveying and main contractor experience to shape pricing strategy, manage contractor engagement, and oversee quotation processes across several product sets.

The role also includes leadership of the quotations team, with accountability for setting clear standards around scope definition, pricing methodology, and bid control.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the complete bid cycle, starting with tender receipt and ending with final submission.
  • Assess tender packs, scope documents, and contractual terms to produce compliant and accurate responses.
  • Create and maintain pricing frameworks for all product lines and project categories.
  • Lead, coach, and support the quotations team to ensure quality, consistency, and on-time delivery.
  • Bring together inputs from sales, engineering, procurement, and operations into full bid packages.
  • Work with main contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
  • Use strong commercial judgement when evaluating risk, margin, and value engineering options.
  • Advise senior leaders with bid planning, commercial analysis, and tender evaluation.
  • Make sure approvals, governance checks, and bid records meet internal control requirements.
  • Help improve bid workflows, tools, and commercial processes over time.

Experience and Qualifications

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a closely related field is required.

Applicants should bring substantial experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, or Bid Manager role, ideally gained with a Tier 2 general contractor on large-scale projects.

Experience should include handling tenders, managing contractors, and working with complex scopes of work, along with leading or supervising a quotations or commercial team. A solid grasp of construction contracts, procurement routes, and cost control is also expected.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong commercial awareness and financial judgement
  • Advanced pricing and cost modelling ability
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Capacity to manage several bids and deadlines at once
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong sense of governance and compliance
  • Clear and confident communication with senior stakeholders
  • Collaborative, hands-on leadership style

Equal Opportunity

Tate welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and experiences and is committed to equal opportunity in hiring.
