Job description
Position summary
This role focuses on quality control for every printed item leaving the print belt. Careful inspection is essential to uphold Culture Studio’s print quality standards. The person in this position will be trained to organize orders, read job tickets, and prepare each order for the next step, such as completion or fulfillment tasks needed before finalization. At Culture Studio, attention to quality and strong organization are key to ensuring customers receive the right prints and are ready for resale. The Belt Catcher role is a vital part of that quality-control process, where every printed piece matters.
Primary priorities
- Check each printed unit against quality standards and clearly communicate when an issue is first noticed during QC review.
- Understand and sort orders according to the next department, such as labeling, finishing, packaging, and related steps.
- Stay proactive through every quality-control stage by setting orders up for success and correcting acceptable QC issues so work can move forward.
Duties and responsibilities
- Monitor every stacked shirt and the quality of each shirt on the belt.
- Track size counts and final job counts to ensure they match the order.
- Handle proper stacking and movement of carts and totes; items needing another print position should go into carts, while items leaving the belt for another department should go into bags, and completed decoration should be folded and bagged.
- Make sure all paperwork is completed accurately and fully.
- Know the job leaving the belt, including positions, correct ink colors, sizes, and styles included in the work.
- Follow all safety procedures at all times.
- Make needed adjustments to defects that can be corrected while still meeting standards.
- Communicate clearly with team members whenever a production issue comes up.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Prepare garments for printing between press setups and tear-downs so the next order is accurate and complete.
- Take top samples when applicable, ensure there is a sample on each belt before operators begin, and return the sample to its proper place afterward.
