Job description

About Be Positive Therapy

Be Positive Therapy provides therapy and assessment services across the NDIS and aged care sectors, with a focus on personalised support that helps clients achieve meaningful outcomes. The organisation works with clients in Victoria, Queensland, and Tasmania and is expanding its behaviour support team in Hobart.

Role overview

This position suits a practitioner who enjoys flexibility, clinical autonomy, and high standards of practice while delivering Positive Behaviour Support. The successful candidate will manage an NDIS caseload and contribute to practical, person-centred outcomes for clients.

What you will do

  • Run your own NDIS caseload and provide person-centred Positive Behaviour Support.
  • Carry out behavioural assessments, including functional behaviour assessments.
  • Create and put into practice behaviour support plans.
  • Take part in clinical supervision and multidisciplinary case meetings.
  • Keep in contact with clients, families, carers, and support coordinators.
  • Work flexibly across community visits, office-based work, and home-based arrangements.
  • Help clients work toward functional and meaningful goals.
  • Prepare behaviour support plans, including restrictive practices where appropriate.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and reports aligned with NDIS and organisational requirements.
  • Work alongside families, carers, and other professionals to support holistic care.
  • Continue building your capability through supervision, training, and reflective practice.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Allied Health, or a related area.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner or in a comparable role in the NDIS or disability sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and person-centred practice.
  • Hands-on experience with assessments and behaviour support plan development.
  • Well-developed written communication and report-writing ability.
  • A compassionate approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

What’s on offer

  • Flexible working options, including work-from-home, office-based, or mixed arrangements.
  • Supportive team environment with strong clinical backing and varied caseloads.
  • Structured onboarding and one-to-one guidance from an experienced practitioner.
  • Opportunities to explore specialisations and strengthen professional development.
  • Flexible hours, with part-time (4 days per week) or full-time (5 days per week) options.
  • Travel support.
  • Team social events, workplace perks, and a positive, engaging culture.
  • Bonus programs, refer-a-friend rewards, and all necessary technology provided.

Inclusion

The employer welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally diverse communities, people with disabilities, and members of the LGBTIQ+ community.
