Role overview
AMWAJ Group of Companies is seeking a Bakery Executive Chef in Qatar to take charge of end-to-end bakery operations. The position involves building and refining bakery menus, creating and standardizing recipes, and making sure every product is delivered with consistent taste, quality, and presentation.
Key duties
The chef will guide and coach the bakery team, organize daily production, and align output with client orders and event schedules. The role also includes close coordination with procurement and inventory functions to handle ingredient planning, control costs, and minimize waste.
Standards and compliance
This position requires strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HSE expectations. The Bakery Executive Chef is also expected to work alongside other culinary and operations leaders to support large-scale catering work while protecting service quality and the AMWAJ brand image.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working as an Executive Bakery Chef.
- Hands-on background in menu creation, recipe consistency, and managing portions and food costs for high-volume catering.
- Strong leadership history in supervising, training, and encouraging varied culinary teams in busy environments.
- Practical understanding of food safety rules, hygiene requirements, and HSE standards, with a strong focus on compliant operations.
- Well-developed planning, organization, and time management skills with the ability to deliver production on schedule.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities for cross-functional work with operations, procurement, and client-facing colleagues.
- A recognized culinary or pastry credential such as a Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or Bakery & Pastry.
- Multiple years in a senior bakery or pastry chef role; Gulf region experience will be considered an advantage.
