Overview

Kumare Restaurant and Bakery is hiring a baker to join its bake shop team in Richmond, British Columbia. This is a full-time, on-site role based at the physical workplace, with no remote work option.

Language

Education

A secondary school graduation certificate or an equivalent level of experience is needed.

Experience

Applicants should have between 7 months and less than 1 year of relevant experience.

Work Setting

The role is based in a bake shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Make doughs, batters, icings, and frostings for pies, bread, rolls, muffins, cookies, cakes, and custom customer requests.
• Place orders or request the ingredients, equipment, and other supplies needed for production.
• Bake prepared doughs and batter mixtures.
• Handle special customer orders from preparation through completion.
• Finish cakes and baked items with frosting and decorative work.
• Check that finished products meet the required quality level.
• Examine kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
• Run baking machinery and related equipment.
• Keep inventory organized and up to date.
• Support the sale and display of baked products.
• Prepare items for customers who have allergies or food intolerances.

Experience and Specialization

This position involves Filipino cuisine. Product specialties include breads and rolls, desserts and pastries, wedding and specialty cakes, donuts and muffins, cake decorating, and chocolate-based items.

Additional Information

This role requires a criminal record check. A valid driver's licence is needed, and public transportation is available.
