Backend Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer with 3 to 11 years of experience to design, create, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient server-side applications and APIs. The successful candidate will be proficient in backend frameworks, microservices, database design, API creation, and cloud-native application development, collaborating closely with diverse teams to implement enterprise-level solutions.

Key Duties

• Design and implement scalable backend systems and microservices
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend functionality for web and mobile platforms
• Ensure server applications are secure, high-performing, and dependable
• Optimize and design database schemas, queries, and data layers
• Integrate external services and enterprise systems via APIs
• Resolve issues, debug, and enhance backend application performance
• Apply best practices for authentication, authorization, and security
• Work collaboratively with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA, and business teams
• Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and follow development standards

Essential Skills and Experience

• Hands-on expertise with at least one of: Java (Spring Boot), .NET (ASP.NET Core), Node.js, Python (Django), Ruby on Rails, or PHP (Laravel/Symfony)
• Proficient in developing RESTful APIs and backend services
• Experienced with microservices architecture
• Strong command of SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and software design principles
• Expertise in integrating third-party APIs and enterprise applications
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance tuning capabilities

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Knowledge of caching technologies like Redis or Memcached
• Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies
• Experience with GraphQL API development
• Knowledge of authentication standards including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and OpenID Connect

Qualifications

A bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a similar area is required. Candidates should possess between 3 to 11 years of experience in backend development.
