Role overview

This position sits within Rooms & Guest Services Operations at JW Marriott in Doha, Qatar. The role is a full-time, non-management position based on site at the Conference Centre Street, West Bay location.

What you will do

You will be responsible for handling guest calls, requests, questions, and concerns from start to finish. This includes directing issues to the right person or department, following through until matters are resolved, and keeping guests informed about messages or updates. The role also covers billing checks and corrections, switchboard operation, monitoring lines that are busy or unanswered, and managing guest room message indicators. You may also assist callers with different call types such as credit card, calling card, long distance, collect, overseas, and person-to-person calls.

You will log guest requests, incidents, billing adjustments, and comment cards into the system so records stay accurate and trackable. In addition, you will provide guests with directions and property details, and support customers who need help with internet access issues by connecting them to the internet service provider’s support line.

Leadership and team support

Part of the job involves helping management with training, scheduling, evaluating, motivating, and coaching associates. You are expected to act as a departmental example, build positive working relationships, and help the team work toward shared goals while maintaining quality standards.

Service and workplace expectations

You must follow company procedures, keep confidentiality intact, protect company assets, and report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions promptly. Guest interaction should reflect Marriott’s service style: welcoming people warmly, recognizing service needs early, assisting guests with disabilities, and showing sincere appreciation. Communication should remain clear and professional, and written work must be accurate and complete.

The position also requires regular use of computers and POS systems, correct telephone etiquette, and the ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods. You should be able to move objects weighing up to 10 pounds without help and complete other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Preferred qualifications

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. The role calls for at least 1 year of related work experience and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
