As the organization expands, it is hiring an Associate Compensation & Benefits Director to strengthen its global rewards function.
What this role does
This position is accountable for running and administering the company’s international compensation and benefits programs. The role involves analyzing reward practices, interpreting regional compensation and benefits data, supporting salary surveys and competitive benchmarking, and collaborating with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, and business leadership to maintain competitiveness, fairness, and compliance across countries. It also supports annual merit, promotion, and bonus planning, along with international benefits design benchmarking and broker management.
Compensation responsibilities
- Support annual salary administration cycles, including upkeep and development of salary grades and pay structures.
- Prepare analytics used to build and maintain bonus and salary increase budgets.
- Assist with annual incentive and salary increase administration.
- Carry out market comparisons to assess how pay and job programs stack up against external benchmarks.
- Review job descriptions and provide consulting feedback to business stakeholders where needed.
- Help run salary surveys by aligning PMG roles to survey reference roles and sharing organization data with survey vendors.
- Lead reporting related to gender pay gap analysis.
- Ensure HR systems are set up and maintained to support compensation policy and priorities.
Benefits responsibilities
- Support the creation and rollout of international benefits strategy, making sure offerings are aligned with business needs, attractive in the market, and cost-efficient.
- Maintain a country- and business-unit-level inventory of benefit plans and policy documents, including renewal timelines and cost tracking.
- Manage annual renewal activity for carriers and policies, including negotiations with brokers and vendors and periodic market reviews to secure competitive terms.
- Work with HR and business partners to define suitable local benefits when entering new countries or acquiring companies.
- Oversee pension scheme administration.
- Act as the contact point for incoming benefits invoices and coordinate with Finance for processing.
- Build external networks and take part in international benefits surveys to keep the company informed on market practices.
- Partner with field HR to support employee queries and processes such as leave, sickness, and workplace accidents.
- Coordinate immigration-related matters with Legal, HR, and external counsel.
General responsibilities
- Work with HRIS teams to maintain strong data quality and integrity checks.
- Prepare HR metrics and compensation-related insights for business and HR stakeholders.
- Coach, guide, and train HR Business Partners on pay-related topics.
- Contribute to the creation of compensation policies and procedures.
- Generate compensation reports, analyze them, and recommend actions based on findings.
- Lead or contribute to HR and Total Rewards initiatives and projects.
- Support US and global compensation matters when required.
- Handle any other duties assigned by the line manager.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least 12 years of experience in compensation and benefits within mature international organizations.
- Prior exposure to multiple countries, including an understanding of differences in processes, payroll, and labor law.
- Strong ability to communicate compensation and benefits messages effectively to both leadership and employees.
Preferred background
- Experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or a related industry aligned with PMG’s service areas.
- Experience using PayFactors and SAP/SuccessFactors HRMS is considered an advantage.
- Experience with job matching and the development of salary grade structures.
- Exposure to short-term incentive plans and/or sales incentive plans.
